Who Am I?
I’m an artist, storyteller, and lifelong creator who’s been chasing curiosity in one form or another for as long as I can remember.
After decades in hospitality and storytelling, I found myself laid off and standing at a crossroads I never saw coming. What began as a shock slowly turned into an invitation to return to the parts of myself I had set aside: the maker, the dreamer, the person who finds meaning in color, texture, and words. I started creating again, not for work or deadlines, but for the simple joy of making something with my hands. Piece by piece, I rebuilt my world through creativity, and in the process, found myself again.
These days, I spend more time with scissors, glue, paper, paint, and words, using whatever helps me make sense of the world around me. My creative practice lives somewhere between fine art and found art, with writing woven through it all and shaped by a mix of chaos, humor, and whimsy.
When I’m not making something with my hands or scribbling down a story, you’ll probably find me on my porch with my dogs, dreaming up my next project, or soaking in the small, quiet moments that inspire everything I do.
Piebird Studios is my creative home base for art, collage, and mixed media. My photography lives separately at Robin Nance Photography, but both flow through my LLC, Piebird Studios.
